The purpose of this session is to help teachers envision classroom environments that support flexible learning. How you design your classroom can help ignite engagement, keep students on task, and cultivate collaboration. We'll think together about how to make room for whole-group, small-group, individual, and teacher work spaces. We'll consider challenges of movement, transitions, and collaboration. We'll see how light, color, and sound impact our learning space. Time will be given for working on your own simple classroom layout plan and brainstorming with colleagues on solutions to common space problems. Workshop is focused on establishing spaces to support flexible learning in workshop classroom environments, K-8, but content is potentially relevant for all grade levels and content areas, depending on interest.
